BC’s favourite events of 2015

Harry – Corporate 50th Anniversary Party – The Royal Academy of Arts

This amazing event took place in summer last year. We had meet and greet staff welcoming guests on arrival and staff serving strawberries and cream in the courtyard whilst listening to a string quartet play live. Guests were then taken through to the galleries for a drinks reception. There were various food stations with different cuisines from around the world for guests to enjoy.

Elia – NetApp Partner Awards 2015 – Royal Horticultural Halls

We designed a stunning stage set for this event and had some incredible entertainment. There was fabulous food provided by At Home and the venue is just stunning. We work on this event every year and love working with these clients!

Donnie – Cooley Event – Sushi Samba   

What a fantastic event! We exclusively hired all three floors of the venue and provided loads of branding for the client. The venue looked amazing with all the vinyl’s attached. We hired in an illusionist, a juggler, an amazing band and also a graffiti wall for guests to enjoy. Guests had a wonderful time and the client loved everything too!

Nicola – IM Festival – Bowood House and Gardens

One of the best events I have ever worked on! We helped produce the IM festival with the events team at Immediate Media. The surroundings were absolutely stunning and we were right by a gorgeous lake. We helped organise different workshops for guests to enjoy including duck herding, drumming, line dancing, circus skills and more. There was also street food stalls throughout the day we then had some amazing bands and DJs at the end of the day performing. Great event!

Andrea – Product Launch – Ham Yard Hotel

I have chosen this event as it was the first ever event I organised and ran by myself and for this reason, it is my favourite of 2015! The Windmill Room at the venue worked beautifully for the event and the client was very pleased with everything.

Niklaus – Wedding – The Rosewood

I think that my favourite event of 2015 was a wedding that we did at the Rosewood Hotel in Holborn. We provided full staging, lighting, white carpet and a dance floor for the beautiful wedding. This is my favourite event of the year as we were able to provide exactly what the bride and groom envisioned to help make their special day perfect. Helping the bride & groom capture their dream is one of the most rewarding feelings when working on events.

Maria – Corporate Party – The Grosvenor Hotel

My favourite event of last year was a corporate party I helped work on at the Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria. We had a 70s disco theme which looked great! We provided an LED multi-coloured dance floor, LED hula hooper, disco dancer vodka luge, roller skater hostesses and more. Such a fun event to work on.

Vanessa – Networking Event – The Dorchester

Nicola and I hosted a networking event for some of our lovely clients at the Dorchester last year. We had a private dinner at the Chef’s Table that overlooks the kitchens. Definitely the best meal I’ve ever had! The food was just outstanding and chef Henry Brosi would enter the room for each course and give us some information about the food and wine which was an extra special touch. Would definitely recommend this experience to everyone as it is one I’ll always remember!

Fairy Tale Fun

Fairy Tale Fun

The word on the event street is that the fairy tale theme is hot for 2015 with the releases of ‘Into the Woods’ and ‘Cinderella’ this year. Think elves, fairies, giants, mermaids, witches, gnomes, trolls and lots of magic!

We think this theme is a winner as there is so much you can do with it and you can make any venue into an enchanted fairy tale with some dramatic décor. This theme could work for any type of event and especially for any weddings this year as well as corporate summer parties.

Fun ideas for this theme are endless! You can decorate the room based on your favourite fairy tales and dress it as if you are in your very own magical castle. For example, you could set the tables with mismatched tea cups and plates and have tea pots as flowers so you have an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ feel. Or if you are fan of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, you can have crystal bowls as centrepieces filled with polished red apples.

Greens and browns work really well for this theme with lots of wood, grass and moss detail. You could also use loads of bright colours or some lovely pastels, every colour seems to fit in with this theme! Candles and lanterns would work perfectly too.

Christmas 2014

What a year 2014 was! We worked with some amazing people, venues, suppliers and, most importantly, our fantastic clients. There were a number of events that we organised and managed over the Christmas period and these were mainly Christmas parties for our corporate clients at various venues in and around London. Many events this year were themed and the most popular theme seemed to be the 1920s/1950s Hollywood Glamour theme. The office was filled with fun accessories for our events including pearls, clapper boards, fake giant cigars, headbands, cigarette holders and more. Holiday Fun

Summer is officially over with children being back to school and everyone back to work from their holidays. The BC team had some amazing holidays this year and travelled all over the world. Here are some of the places we visited this summer…

Nicola – Kefalonia, Greece

I had the most amazing holiday ever! This was my second time in Kefalonia and this Greek island has stolen my heart. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and there is so much to do and see. Great wedding destination too! Here are some of my favourite pictures of Petani Beach, Lunch at Lepeda Beach, Myrtos Beach and Assos…





Niklaus – Los Alcazares, Spain

Los Alcázares is one of the most relaxing and beautiful locations along the Spanish coast; great food, great cocktails and even better views!


Donnie – Hvar, Croatia

As in true BC style, I was jet setting with the rich and famous in Croatia on island of Hvar. After arriving to the amazing Hotel Amfora, I was then island hopping around Hvar for lunch and dinner and waiting for a sunset or sunrise at Carpe Diem club. All in all amazing destination for party, sailing or just soaking up the sunshine. It is a must go destination and if this wasn’t on your bucket list please add it now. If you need a translator please give me a call!


Andrea – Cancun, Mexico

Cancun is a tropical paradise that remains one of the world’s top tourist destinations. There are places where the ocean is the perfect shade of turquoise, it’s gorgeous!! The locals are very hospitable and friendly. They are a very happy, thankful, and good-natured people. If you’re looking for a place with great weather, pumping nightlife, many accommodation options and some of the coolest activities in Mexico, Cancun is where you want to be. Excursions in Cancun that I fully recommend are chicken itza, Cancun Dolphin Royal Swim and the one day sightseeing, snorkelling and dancing catamaran cruise.


Vanessa – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

As Brazil is my home town, I love everything about the country. One sight that I really recommend seeing if you ever visit Brazil is the Elephant Mountain in Niteroi. It is a stunning beach and has the biggest waves I have ever seen! Perfect for surfers!


Hamboula – New York, America

I had a fantastic time in New York this year. I shopped ’til I dropped, ate amazing food and had so much fun seeing all the sights. Would definitely recommend this trip if you haven’t been before. So much to do and see in New York and I can’t wait to go back soon.




Rosie – Various

Bogliasco, Italy 

The warm green waters of the Ligurian Sea lap gently against Bogliasco’s black, sandy beach. Like the village itself the beach is tiny and is popular with visitors and locals alike. Not much is known about the town because its records were plundered during the Napoleonic conquest.  However, it is certain that Bogliasco, an ancient fishing village that was well known to the Romans.


Mons, Belgium

I love a little bit of a history and if you do too, then Mons will probably evoke WW1 for most British readers. It has however been witness to many more battles than that, and if it remembers the presence of British and German troops in 1914, it is also proud of vestiges dating back to the Romans. Van Gogh was here for some time before moving on to Provence and the house he lived in can be visited.


Paris, France

Paris is called the “City of Love” for a number of reasons, including its sights, its native language and its popularity as a honeymoon destination. Although other cities sometimes claim the same moniker, Paris earns its name as a place where romance blossoms. The Eiffel tower blew my mind away. Couples dancing under the tower to the sweet sound of Tango makes you want to fall in love all over again!

Theming a venue adds that extra something and a real wow factor to any event. A very plain venue can be turned into something amazing with a bit of theming. Theming can include lighting, drapes, props and more. Themes have become increasingly popular at events. Afternoon Tea Week August 2014

Since it is National Afternoon Tea Week this week, we have decided to tell you which are our favourite afternoon tea venues in London. Here are the team’s favourites…

Harry – Claridges

A very classic, traditional afternoon tea. If you want somewhere very English, this is the place to go. The Foyer has a very art deco 1930s feel to it to go with the truly magical afternoon tea experience.


Elia – The Berkeley

This is afternoon tea with a creative twist to the classic afternoon tea elements. It is inspired by the themes and colours of the fashion world and changes every six months to follow the changing seasons in fashion. Their cakes and fancies are inspired by designers such as Christian Louboutin, Miu Miu, Oscar De La Renta and many more. A really cool, quirky way to have afternoon tea!


Nicola – Marriott Grosvenor House

I have been to quite a few venues in London for afternoon tea as it’s an activity I often enjoy with my friends. Marriott Grosvenor House’s afternoon tea has definitely been the best up to now. Their sandwiches are exquisite, their teas are very unique, the scones are heavenly and the desserts were delicious too. Their service is also fantastic – highly recommended!


Donnie – The Lanesborough

Even though the Lanesborough is currently closed for renovations, their afternoon is tea is absolutely amazing. They have a great selection of teas and sandwiches and the hotel is lovely. Great place in London for afternoon tea.


Andrea – The Dorchester

The venue is beautiful, the food is fresh and the scones were fantastic! It is the best afternoon tea I have ever been too and I recommend it to others.


Vanessa – The Landmark

The Winter Garden is the perfect setting for afternoon tea and is situated at the heart of the soaring eight story glass roof atrium. Not only do The Landmark offer scrumptious sandwiches, French pastries and scones, but they also have mouth-watering chocolate delights available as well as a vast array of teas.


Niklaus – Sanderson London

In my opinion, the best afternoon tea in London! Afternoon tea at the Sanderson London is like no other – it has a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party theme. Something completely different and so fun. Vintage books as menus, napkins wrapped in riddles, queen tea pots, marshmallow mushrooms and many more exciting little treats.


Lorna – The Grove

The sweet finger sandwiches, scones and chocolaty desserts are well presented upon a traditional English stand. Which definitely matches the historic surroundings making you dream of being among the rich for every afternoon. Such a lovely gift for mothers and aunts or even for that special someone.


Hamboula – Hilton Park Lane

If you love chocolate, Hilton Park Lane’s afternoon tea is the one for you! With a mix of Pop art and chocolate, everything looks amazing as well as tastes amazing. They have delicious sandwiches but even their scones have chocolate in! Every chocolate lovers dream!

Top Tips For Brides On Transforming Your Venue

Lighting – Creating lighting that inspires and captivates has become an essential component of any memorable wedding or event. There are so many ways to achieve amazing lighting and that is all dependant on the scale of the event, time of day and venue space itself. Lights can really add a ‘wow’ factor to your wedding. They can completely colour wash any basic venue into something amazing. Our top of the range uplighters are a favourite among our clients. There are many prominent colours for weddings including blue, pink, gold and purple. Our gobo lights are also very popular and can be personalised so that the newlyweds’ initials are projected around the room or on the dance floor. Pin spots on each table are also very common at weddings as they really highlight table centrepieces. For us, lighting is a really important factor for your venue and your wedding and will make a big difference.

Theming/Colour Scheme – Theming/colour scheme is a great way of transforming any venue. A theme can create a very unique feel to your wedding. Some of our favourite themes include Winter Wonderland, English Country Garden and Great Gatsby. Colour schemes are a big factor of every wedding and really enhance the overall look and feel of the venue.

Flowers – Of course, another huge factor of your wedding. Flowers add a really special touch to a venue and can add a huge pop of colour. Whether it is white, pink or purple flowers, they look absolutely stunning in a venue and will add that wedding feel.

  1. Choose the right venue wisely – When choosing a venue for an event it is important to make sure you pick wisely, as this can play a huge part in establishing the first impression to attendees. It is important that the venue has friendly and professional staff, is easily accessible with good transport links and has good facilities such as cloakrooms, toilets, etc.
  2. Choose your suppliers wisely – It is imperative that the suppliers chosen for the event have a good reputation and are reliable.
  3. Delicious food – People always remember what the food was like at an event. If it is good, they talk about it and if it is bad, they talk about. You want to make sure you are being talked about for supplying the best food that is going to be remembered. Therefore it is worth investing in the right caterers. It can also be a great enticement for them to return to your event again.
  4. Be creative – It is always fun to get creative and there is no better time to do this than at an event. Come up with a great theme surrounding the event or something that is a little different. This will definitely get guests talking.
  5. The right entertainment – Some form of entertainment is fun at any event. Choosing the right entertainment that fits in with the event can be a real ice breaker amongst guests.

BC’s 2013 Highlights

The amazing team here at BC have worked on some truly awesome events over the last year. Here are some of their personal highlights:

Donnie Kat: Meeting Nicole Scherzinger at the 2013 Global Angels Awards at  The Roundhouse. She was performing on the evening and I was lucky enough to meet her.

Another highlight for me was that I was in charge of organising all the AV for a private event at Sushi Samba which Lionel Ritchie performed at.

I also transformed some of our top clients offices in to the most amazing Christmas parties.

Katie Neophytou: The Oysters Summer Party 2013 at Quaglino’s. An event that pulls together over 20 Tourist Boards to create a unique event which offers over 300 lucky guests a truly exceptional experience.
